My razor - Edwin Jagger Chatsworth

I now seem to use this razor every day. It's a heavy razor, weighing in at 110g, not too aggressive but not too mild either. After trying over a dozen razors, including the very expensive Feather stainless steel razor, I'm comfortable with this. Too much chopping and changing razors didn't suit me. I'm happy to use different brushes, soaps and creams every day but I enjoy the familiarity of one razor.

Here are some more details:

After Shave Balms - great value.

Before I started treating shaving as a hobby and looking out for new products I used quite expensive after shaves like Givenchy and Floris.

This group of four balms from Wilkinson, Proraso and The Body Shop together cost less than my last Floris Balm. And they are just as effective. So shop around, there's great value out there!

Two Band Brushes - Value for money.

I read a post on Badger and Blade by someone seeking advice about how to spend $100 on a two band brush. I noted that eventually someone suggested that he should check out New Forest Brushes.Wise advice. For about $50 you can match the performance of other two band brushes for over twice the price. And the new brushes now hand made in the New Forest are made from the same materials used by Rooney in their top of the line hand made brushes which are at least as good as the quality of Simpson handle materials.

More and more shavers are realising that they no longer need to pay high prices for high quality brushes.
