Shave of the day

My first proper shave with my New Forest Superior Badger brush. It really is a great brush for face lathering with soaps. Excellent backbone and soft tips. It's great for scrubbing and circular motions as well as painting. I used it with some old favourites. Added a crystal platinum to the Merkur 38C. Another super shave.

My first experience of a Feather blade in a Merkur HD was a bloody sore affair. I tried one today in the less aggressive Jagger Chatsworth. A superb comfortable close shave. It illustrates the importance of trying different combinations.

My New Forest two band prototype is performing well. I will have some made later this summer. Castle Forbes lavender remains my favourite cream.

My Plisson pure shaving brush is one of my most attractive brushes. But it is prickly. so much nicer to use with swift to and fro painting motions. DR Harris rose cream has a delightful scent and provides excellent cushioning. The Jagger Chatsworth razor with a Gillette Super Thin blade gave a very comfortable shave.
